Hikers: Derek Hansen, Weston Hafen, Kelton Andrewsen, Hunter Hafen, Jared Altman, Jack Wilkey
Make sure to bring about 3 liters of water and lots of food. Most of us are 2 sandwiches and granola bars. Also, make sure to have a hat with you and sunscreen also so you will not get sunburned. The hike is really fun so be prepared for the hike of your life. Also watch out for any water. When we went there was only a small puddle or two.
It took us 4 hours and 15 minutes, and that included stopping to eat a couple times and exploring a bit. We went an extra mile at the end so we would finish 10 miles total.
We saw cool rocks, antelope, jackrabbits, lizards, and lots of scrub oak. Some bushes were growing right out of the rock. Westin skinned his knee a bit, but nobody else was injured. There were a few slippery spots, so bring shoes with good traction. We didn’t see anyone else until after entering the narrow part of little wild horse canyon. We passed maybe 20 people total. The upper parking lot was about 2/3rds full. There is a toilet at the parking lot, but bring your own toilet paper.
